Brixham Heritage regatta 2019


Provisional Programme 2019 The dates for the 2019 Heritage Sailing Regatta are Saturday 25th May and Sunday 26th May. Arrival in Brixham can be on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday. The Fish Supper and Fireworks take place on the Saturday evening. The Skippers briefing, Regatta, Prize Giving and Raffle will be on the Sunday. It also leaves the Bank Holiday Monday for crews to sail the boats home. Some of the times and events listed below may be changed slightly to fit in with any revisions made by the Heritage Committee. (Times are aproximate) FRIDAY 24th - Regatta boats start to arrive in Brixham. From 1900 Brixham Yacht Club will have an ‘ A la Carte ‘ menu available. Booking is advisable. SATURDAY 25th - Regatta boats arrive in Brixham 0730 - 1100 Breakfasts available at the Yacht Club 1600 - 1900 A water shuttle will run from the Town Pontoon to the Yacht Club . Welsh Youth & Junior Championships 2019


The Welsh Youth and Junior Championships is the RYA Cymru Wales premier youth and junior championship. The event provides competitive racing for RYA Pathway classes within two main-fleet courses and an inshore regatta fleet which provides coached racing for those less experienced. The event is open to any U19 competitor and all fleets will have a Open and Welsh Championship so sailors from inside Wales or elsewhere are more than welcome. RYA Cymru Wales squad coaches will be supporting the main fleet and RYA Cymru Wales club coaches will be delivering training and coaching the regatta fleet.

West Highland Yachting Week in Oban, Scotland


Scotland's largest yachting event - West Highland Yachting Week provides a spectacle of sail on the west coast of Scotland based around Craobh Marina, Oban and Tobermory from the end of July to the beginning of August each year. This historic and unique sailing regatta is now in its 69th year. It has evolved into the West Coast's biggest sailing event taking in 3 venues, Craobh, Oban and Tobermory with competitors from around the world drawn to the event's distinctive blend of competitive racing combined with a varied and full programme of family social events. The regatta is a mix of passage racing with Olympic courses over six days. Run by three local yacht clubs under a Joint Regatta Committee, West Highland Yachting Week (WHYW) is one of the biggest sailing events in the UK. Feeder races from the Clyde, Oban and Gigha bring boats to Craobh Marina in Argyll for the start of the event that can attract up to 200 yachts.

Enterprise Association 2019 National Championships


The Enterprise Nationals for 2019 will be hosted by Mount's Bay Sailing Club from 3rd - 9th August 2019, with arrival and registration on Saturday 3rd, and racing starting on Sunday August 4th August. Mount's Bay Sailing Club Godolphin Steps MARAZION TR17 0EN United Kingdom For the first time, the class is running its nationals in conjunction with the Osprey National Championships, which takes place from 3rd to 7th August. This combined event is bound to add to what already promises to be a great week both socially and on the water. Discounted entry is available until the end of April with special promotional prices available for Youths and first-time entrants, and for Enterprise sailors who haven't attended a Nationals since 2013. So, if you haven't been to a Nationals before, or not been for a while, then make this the year to come and give it a go! The Nationals Championships entries are divided into Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions, so there's always a level of competition whatever your skill and experience. Your division will be determined by your experience and performance at the beginning of the week. Everyone comes together to race and to share experience and skills that allow fellow competitors the chance to learn and progress. As a class, our number one priority is to have a good time enjoying great racing and socials.

FALMOUTH WEEK REGATTA


Falmouth Sailing Week aims to provide top-level competitive racing in a fun atmosphere, using a variety of courses during the week, followed by enjoyable teas, presentation of prizes and entertainment at a different host club every day. The Sailing Week features up to seven days of fleet racing for yachts and dayboats in the expansive waters of Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads (lower Fal estuary). The week commences with a race briefing on the first Saturday, followed by racing each day from Sunday to the following Saturday, with daily and series prizes, and is complemented by comprehensive shoreside events for everyone.

Cowes Week


Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar and is one of the UK's longest running and most successful sporting events. It now stages up to 40 daily races for around 1,000 boats and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world. The event offers a great mix of competitive sailing and social activities. The 8,500 competitors range from Olympic and world class professionals to weekend sailors. In excess of 100,000 spectators come to watch the sailing, enjoy the parties and live entertainment, and to experience the unique atmosphere. It is genuinely a one-of-a-kind event. There are over 40 different classes, taking place over the eight days. Each day of the event has plenty of exciting regatta racing to watch and opportunities to soak in the party atmosphere.

Appledore & Instow Regatta


The annual Appledore & Instow Regatta is great local time honoured maritime celebration established since 1885 with various traditional and contemporary events across a number of days in July and August including an array of stalls and many more things to see and do. Previous Regatta events have included Gaffers & Luggers Sailing Races, Model Yacht Racing, with Dragon Boat Style Racing, World Championship Crabbing Contest, Salmon Boat Races, Gig Sprints, Gig Club Racing, Beach Tug of War, Gig River Races, with competitive W.E.A.R.A. Rowing with 10 Clubs in 38 Races, N.D.Y.C. Sailing races. With additional events and activities in both Appledore & Instow Villages with a local Art Show, Fishing Competition, Sailing Boat Race, Greasy Pole Walking, Model Yacht Racing, Outboard Motor Race, Pilot Gig Sprint Race, Rowing, Sculling over the stern and the Boat Tug of War, Miller & Sweep Flour Battle with a variety of other activities and stall holders.

Torbay Royal Regatta
