Wooden Ships Comments on this Maurice Griffiths Good Hope ketch
Good Hope ketch designed by Maurice Griffiths and built by Whisstocks of Woodbridge in 1968.
This is the first boat built, named Good Hope and designed to be a comfortable and spacious cruising yacht that is easy to handle and safe. She features a manageable ketch rig, sheltered helm position under the wheelhouse, centre cockpit with an aft cabin and spacious living accommodation. 7 berths including a large double.
She has been in the present ownership since 1996 and used for sailing around the West Country and English channel, frequently single handed proving how easy she is to sail.
She had a new Volvo 55hp diesel fitted in 2006 which has been well maintained and cared for.
