Wooden Ships Comments on this Laurent Giles Lymington L Class
The Lymington L Class was designed by Laurent Giles and was the fore runner to the Vertue which is easy to see by looking at her lines. This yacht was built by Elkins of Christchurch in 1933. She was the 2nd L Class to be built out of 18 in total, commissioned by Colonel Bland-Strang.
The boat had a major refit in Cornwall in 2003 for a previous owner and was purchased by the current owner in 2008. Since then she has been professionally maintained each year and improvements made to her rig and equipment. She appears to be a smart and well cared yacht with lovely lines and nice pedigree. Since 2008 she has been day sailed in the Solent on a regular basis.
A very pretty, well equipped and nicely presented yacht that is ready to go sailing. The owner has a large road trailer which can take the boat and could be available to a purchaser if desired.
