Wooden Ships Comments on this Bjarne Aas sloop
Designed by Bjarne Aas and built in Frederikstad, Norway in 1964.
Owned by the current owners between 1995 and 2002 and bought back by them in 2014.
They undertook a thorough refit in 1995 and again in 2014. In the recent refit the keel was removed and rebedded, hull sand blasted and repainted, new propeller, new sails and the rig overhauled amongst other jobs. Since then she did a round Britain voyage in 2017 and has been raced and cruised locally on the east coast with great success. She has proved to be a fast but easily handled yacht, regularly sailed single handed but with enough space for a size crew.
