The Sovereign was designed by Kim Holman as a comfortable family cruising boat that could be easily managed and provide enough living space for extended periods aboard. This particular boat was built in 1965 to Lloyds 100A1 by Jack Holman in Brixham, and kept in class until 1977.
The boat was bought by a chap in the mid 1990's who after a few years of sailing decided to embark on an extensive refit and then take the boat on an extended voyage. Consequently she has spent the last 18 years ashore under cover on the east coast where she has had a major refit including a complete new teak on ply deck, new engine and systems including tanks, new masts spars, rigging and sails plus a thorough cosmetic refit. Bought by the present owner in 2015, the project had been abandoned and the boat lay idle in the yard so the present owner got everything finished off, got her rigged, launched and sea trialled. She barely made a drop of water when launched and the new machinery and rigging is all working well. She needs some basic fitting out below to complete her but this is very minor work.
She was bought solely to finish the project, not because the owner wanted a yacht to sail over the horizon, so now she is finished it is time to sell her on move on. This is a great opportunity for someone to purchase a thoroughly refitted and sound yacht with lots of new equipment for a very reasonable sum.

Planked in pitch pine below the waterline, mahogany above all copper fastened to steamed oak timbers.
Mostly grown oak floors except for a few galvanised straps up forward and under the water tank.
Cast iron ballast keel with all new wrought iron bolts in last 15 years.
Yacht laid teak deck over a plywood subdeck,all new in last 15 years. Varnished teak toe rail all round.
Varnished teak coamings with a sheathed plywood coachroof deck, finished in grey deck paint.
Aluminium framed windows. The coachroof lifts to a raised dog house aft for increased headroom below.
Self draining cockpit with scrubbed teak thwarts and lockers either side. Lazarette locker with a hatch in the aft deck.
The rig is entirely new in the last 15 years and she has not been to sea with it.
Bermudan ketch rig with a deck stepped main mast in a stainless tabernacle. New alloy masts and slab reefing booms. Stack pack systems on both booms.
Stainless steel standing rigging, all new in last 15 years but unused, to internal stainless chain plates. New continuous line roller furling genoa system.
All new running rigging.
All LED navigation lights.
Single pair of Lewmar non self tailing cockpit sheet winches.
Brand new unused sails from Gowan including main, mizzen, genoa and storm sails.
Beta Marine 37.5hp diesel fitted new with only 15 hours running time.
All new stern gear, shaft and propeller.
Engine has been tested under load in the water and is running well.
Welded plastic water tank under the cabin sole.
4 berths including 2 saloon settee berths and 2V-berths up forward which become a double.
Steps down over the engine from a port offset entrance hatch. Galley sink to starboard and a large work surface extending right across the beam of the boat. Top accessed lockers in the work surface. Galley stove to be fitted.
Half height bulkheads dividing off the saloon with a settee berth either side, both with a shelf and storage lockers behind. Centreline dropleaf table.
Centreline door going forward with a hanging locker to port and heads compartment to starboard. New Jabsco sea toilet discharges directly overboard.
Forward again into the forepeak with twin V-berths and an anchor chain right in the bows.
