"Trio" is a very tidy example of the classic 1980's Beneteau First 25. Designed to be a safe, family cruising boat with good performance and the ability to be competitive at club racing level. There are 5 berths in a forecabin and convertible saloon layout which benefits from Eberspacher cabin heating. Separate heads compartment with chemical toilet, galley with sink and gas stove. In the same ownership for the last 18 years she has been well looked after with a number of additions including new boom (2018), 2 new self tailing winches, and new flooring.
There is an recent SBS yard trolley which can be separated from the boat sale if not wanted by the buyer.
White and cream GRP hull, deck and superstructure with fixed fin keel and transom hung rudder with wooden tiller. Interior wood trim. Wooden slat seats in cockpit. Large self bailing cockpit with angled cockpit mouldings doubling as back rests. Cavernous locker space port and starboard for boating equipment such as fenders and warps. Stainless steel push and pulpit rails, stainless steel stanchions with single set of guard wires. Self bailing anchor locker.
The boat is stored ashore every winter and was antifouled just prior to re-launch in March 2019.
Vessel powered by a Yanmar 1GM 9hp inboard diesel engine driving a 2 bladed fixed propeller. A single 12V battery, charged via the engine, provides all electrical power.
- A new drive shaft, grease box and cutlass bearing were fitted in 2017.
- Engine serviced each year.
Rigging and Sails
Deck stepped aluminium mast with a single set of spreaders. Stainless steel standing rigging and some of the terylene running rigging led back to cockpit. Slab reefing mainsail with boom mounted lazy bag. Boom replaced in 2018. Roller furling Genoa with UV strip.
Both mainsail (12 years old) and Genoa (18 years old) are said to be in "good condition".
- New boom - 2018
- 2 x new self tailing winches fitted
Vessel can sleep up to five people in a saloon and fore-cabin layout. Main saloon is entered via the companionway with large sliding roof hatch that lets in plenty light and ventilation.
On entering the saloon, to port is the small yet functional galley. It has a sink with manually pumped cold water, a gimbal mounted two burner gas hob with grill, ice box, and storage. To starboard is a chart table with switch panel. The saloon seats double as comfortable berths with the starboard settee converting to a double berth. There is a sizeable saloon table that folds away against the forward bulkhead when not in use. Forward of main saloon bulkhead and before the forecabin with its double V berth is the amidships heads with chemical toilet, vanity unit and wash hand basin with manually pumped cold water. The flooring and saloon sides have been re-covered in wooden panelling.
Eberspacher diesel heating keeps things cosy in the colder months.
